April 10th, in the 12th Steel Making Simulation Challenge held in Mumbai India, Mr.Tang Xiaoyu, from HBIS, beat other competitors and won the champion of industrial category. Once again, after winning the 11th Champion of the competition, HBIS is winning the latest champion. On the same day, in the spring session of WSA executive committee, HBIS CCP & Group Chairman, Nippon Steel Chairman, WSA Education & Training Committee Chairman, and JFE Chairman Koji Kakigi presented the World Cup and Certificate to Mr.Tang Xiaoyu. ?xml:namespace>
The WSA steel making simulation challenge is held once a year and the competition has student category and industrial category. The competitors should have working experiences of no more than 5 years in the upper and down streams of steel industry. This year, the competition attracted more than 1515 people from more than 50 countries. After 4 tournaments in different regions, the the regional champions and the second winners of each regional tournament received the invitations to attend the world final session. On November 30, 2017 Mr.Tang Xiaojun won the second place in the regional challenge and the qualification to attend the final games.
The task was to produce a specific engineering steel grade at the lowest cost using steel university’s Secondary Steel making simulator. After two hours in the game, Tang Xiaoyu beat other competitors from four regions and won the final champion of industry category.
Mr.Tang Xiaoyu graduated from University of Science & Technology Beijing with the major of Metallurgical Engineering. Entering HBIS, Mr.Tang has been working in HBIS Hansteel Hanbao Steel Making plant and appointed the converter chief and technician.
