Yu Yong listened to the presentations and discuss the business issues. He praised the excellent performance Duferco had made in FISCO 2018 and the amazing job the executive team had done. He said that the protectionism in international trade was on the rise and was bringing difficulties to the business communities. HBIS Duferco was still rising, which made HBIS believe that while facing business challenges, Duferco was absolutely able to cope with difficulties and achieve a sustainable development.
He emphasized that facing new international and business environment, HBIS needed to reform its business models. To a trading firm, innovation and the abilities to grasp opportunities were essential. Now, China is implementing a new round of reform and open door policy and leave tremendous opportunities and room for growth to enterprises. The cherishable resource of Duferco is not only about the large trade volume, but the risk control, business model and settlement system, materialized over long years. We hope Duferco could take the huge opportunities and take full advantages of its own resources. Duferco is focusing on clients and extending its business chains. The reason Duferco becoming the world’s most competitive steel trade is exactly the special resources and connotations it adds to steel material. He hopes that Duferco could explore more opportunities and business models.
Yu Yong emphasized that maintaining its status, Duferco should add more connotation and competitiveness and lead the international trade. Compare to trade volume, HBIS weighs more on the growth ratio of high end and high value added products. More important strategically, HBIS Duferco should build a business platform for high end HBIS products entering top European market. In future, Duferco is not merely a trader, instead, it should be a composite S&T firm that owns strong financing, risk control, technology, brands, new product promotion sectors.
Yu Yong emphasized that an independent, open and growing HBIS Duferco could be more valuable to HBIS and Duferco would continue to be independent in its operation. Since the incorporation of the holding company, the company has always enjoyed its independence in its business, representing the consent and trust of the group. HBIS believes that Duferco could grow better in a more open environment. He hopes that HBIS Duferco could become a green, open, sustainable global public company.
